Idaho Family Surprise

We had the best surprise ever this week at Grandma and Grandpa Bohrer's house. We were sad that our cousins from Virginia weren't going to be with us this Christmas this year and in our prayer we were praying that they would be remembered and blessed this holiday season and who walked in as we all said Amen? Jason, Heidi, Whitney and Mason--they drove straight through the last 48hrs. We were all shocked. After we gave hugs I told them I was sorry that I already sent their presents in the mail and Dan's remark was "Not as sorry as I am" Remember, I am married to an accountant and it costs money to send gifts, especially heavy ones, far away. He cracked me up. I had to tell them, and of course they laughed too. Our kids were so excited to have all of their Bohrer cousins together for Christmas celebrations and fun in the snow. We loved our Christmas Surprise from the Bohrer cousins far far away.
Seth and Kyle going down the hill Grandpa made for them with his tractor on their tummies.

Whitney, Hailey and Mason being pulled on the sled.

Hailey tubing with her cousins. Fun Snow Day.

We had so much fun in the deep snow. It snowed over 10" while we were there one night and then kept on coming down. The wind with that gave us some HUGE snow drifts to get the mule stuck in while pulling the sleds and we had to get the tractor out a few times to get the road cleared and also to get people out from being stuck in the snow.
Grandpa Herb, you are so nice to help everyone with your tractor.

Loving the snow

Watch out, this kid has good aim with those snowballs.

What a cutie!

Building his snowfort.

Hamming it up for the camera, as always!

Snow...FINALLY!

Hailey and her friend Kaylee, playing in the snow, so excited to finally have it.

Freezing little hands, that is what happens when you take off your gloves before you go inside.

Don't eat the snow! Yuck!

She is such a doll.

Look at those missing front teeth.

Kaylee and Hailey swinging on the tree.

The snow must be softer to land on?

Both of the girls had fun together.

Woops, slipped off. Soft landing.

"Mom, will you sleigh me?"

I am shoveling snow, and Kyle is playing in the snow with his sled and ruining every clean path I shovel. Glad to have snow, and glad to be feeling well enough to shovel it. As I am clearing the driveway for the 2nd time for the day (Dan did it before he left, it just happened to lay down another 4 inches) Kyle is sad because there is no-one to play with in the snow.
Then he caught me off guard by saying the cutest thing.
"Mom, will you sleigh me?"
I started to laugh and then said, "Sure, do you mean pull you on the sled?"
Slay and Sleigh, same diff ha?
If he only knew why I was laughing, I didn't want to explain the other meaning of the word that sounds like sleigh.
Happy Holidays!
I'll upload the pictures tomorrow, my computer is running low on battery.

5 Jobs that make me thankful to have the job as mom

During my visit with the E.R. today, I noticed 5 or more jobs I am thankful are not mine. They include:
  • The great I.V. needle pokers
  • Butt probing/Cat Scan injections through the rear and in my arm. Glad that isn't my job.
  • Vaginal probing/Ultrasound vaginal style, another job I wouldn't want, especially when they are confused and have to go and get help to figure out why my parts are not the norm.
  • Poop tester/Who wants to test out people's crap? It wasn't fun trying to get it into a cup either.
  • The Clean-up crew in an E.R., we saw a lot of people coming in with some serious injuries that made a huge mess. I am glad that is not my job.

I am just thankful to be home and be with my kids and hubby that I have. Being a mom is the best job ever.

p.s. For those that were calling earlier, I didn't have appendicitis and did not need my appendix removed. I had a cyst the size of a golf ball that was hemorrhaging. Women have all the fun stuff:)

Help me, I don't know what I did???

I don't know what I did, but I was trying to get a cute blog background from a website and I screwed my blog up. I don't know what happened, I should just stick to thecutestblogontheblock where the instructions are easy and usually only 1-2 steps, but I went with one that messed with all of the other commands and now I can't get even the backgrounds from thecutestblogontheblock ones to work. HELP ME, has anyone else done this?

Christmas Tag

1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both, depends on if I am giving to friends then bags, if it is going under the tree, definately wrapped, and I love to tie ornaments and wrap them like artwork, when I can get away with it, Dan usually makes fun of me.

2. Real tree or Artificial ? I wish it could be a real tree, favorite memories picking out trees. I think that our kids don't have the same magical memories that I had growing up and it makes me sad. What happened to rainbow lights, tinsel, grimlin style and picking the perfect tree. If money were never an issue, I would have the best tree cut from the mountains myself and I would love every second of the smell that it would bring! Okay, that's it, next year we are going to have to go pick out a tree, my kids can't miss out on this...thanks a lot Jamie!!

3. When do you put up the tree? As soon as the Scrouge will let me, Dan gets annoyed when Christmas stuff is up in November, so it can't be until Dec. 1st---LAME!

4. When do you take the tree down? When ever I feel like it, I don't ever let it go after New Years or the day after. But it is fun to have the lights for the New Year's Eve Countdown etc.

5. Do you like eggnog? Not my favorite

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My RealBaby doll. It looked almost too real and it smelled the sweetest plastic-ish baby powder smell. I got a brass cradel and swing to go with it and I thought I died and gone to heaven it was so good. I also remember my dad asking me if he could hold it and I gently passed it to him as if it were alive and he took it and slapped it in the face and said "Wake up Baby, Wake up" I started to cry and thought he was so cruel to my sweet baby. My family was of course laughing and I was of course, sensative. I told Hailey about that with her babydoll as I took it and slapped it and said "Wake up" just like my dad did and she thought that it was so funny and said that Grandpa is funny. I told her that I cried when I was little because my baby was alive and real to me. She said "Oh ya, mine is too, but that is funny"... and then laughs again. My daughter is a little more warped than I was as a child, because she had to be raised by a warped sense of humor of a mother-ME!

8. Easiest person to buy for? I don't think that anyone is easy for me. I think about it too much.

13. When do you start shopping? I am married to an accountant, so all year long so I can spread it out, then I go a little haywire in Oct. then again right after Thanksgiving, then I am usually done by the 1st week in Dec.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Heck ya!!! There was a game given to me by my sister as a joke. Just after Dan and I were married we were playing games with my family one time and the game we were playing at the time was Tribond, Dan is a walking encyclopedia and has partial photographic memory so playing these games with him are pointless, he knows stuff he shouldn't and it makes me feel stupid when I don't know the stuff I should. I hate games that you have to think hard for and remember crap from School, I either wasn't there mentally or I really wasn't there. So I got really sensative and pretty much started crying(I wasn't on my mental pills yet, you know the ones that keep you from crying for no reason at any given time-yep, I am still on them and I love them!!!p.s. I have tried to get off of them and I get terets and have a potty mouth, and then I cry about it after...) back to the story, my family was giving me a hard time about my lame "I don't know's" So I said I hate the game, I will never play it again, it makes me feel stupid. I got teased for making such a big deal about it and then what did I get for Christmas from my sister Becky? You got it! So what did I give right back to her the next year? Yep, and it has been exchanged back and forth for the last 9 years!! Becky, guess who has you this year? YEP, this green box is coming to your house this year!

15. Favorite thing to eat or drink at Christmas? It is all changing now that I am going health nut.

16. Lights on the tree? I like a ton of them so it looks like glitter! I like having a colored light tree for the kids and a white lighted tree for the main room.

17. Favorite Christmas song? I have lots, it depends. I love Silent Night if we are caroling with my family because they are awesome singers and it sounds so pretty. I like cheesy Christmas songs that make me remember being a kid, so there are lots.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay at home, but next year we are considering DisneyLand and avoiding the crazy Christmas presents etc.

19. Can you name all of Santa 's reindeer? Yes, but I have to sing it, not on purpose I just can't help it, it's like the abc's song.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star, some angels on trees freak me out, they look wierd. My mom has a gorgeous one, but for me a star.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Pajamas on Christmas Eve and presents Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? People who buy way too much for their kids and major moneybags crap and say it's from Santa, Cha- how come Santa gave them this and all I got was this piece of crap of a toy? Ya- if you're one of those, just say it is from you- Santa can't bring ponies in his sack okay! Also, I hate the obligation feeling of getting gifts for people that you hardly talk to and then all of a sudden it is gift givin time, it's like, here take this gift for all of the times I should have been a friend, neighbor, or whatever and this useless tinker of a gift will make up for it. Holy Crap, I sound like such a brat, and it is true, I am. I just think that gifts shouldn't be wasted on people who don't need it. I would much rather they saved the money and gave something useable to a family in need. I love that about Christmas and it makes me sad when the second Christmas is over, those families and Centers are nearly forgotten until the next Dec. rolls around.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I have a few favorites from different times in my life, but I get nervous about collecting too much of those because I would be sad if they were broken, and I don't ever want my kids to feel sorry for breaking my favorite memory and having me loose it and cry over it and have them feel bad too. I guess I am just avoiding getting to attached because I don't want too get hurt. Woa! Can we say Therapy? I have always had a thing for snowflakes though, so they are everywhere. I also am traditional with the coloring. Red, Green and a little variation in between depending on the trend. I like having big giant bulbs and varying sizes. Whatever, my tree would be a lot different if I could buy whatever I wanted and I am sure that is what most would say. I like what I have done with what I got. It feels Chrismaslike to me, so it is good.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Honey baked ham with cheesy potatoes, rolls,(like you Jamie) my mom's pecan pie, and my mom's cheeseball with crackers for the appetizer. I have been trying out new things to start my own traditions and it has been so fun. I feel like a Suzie homemaker Modern Betty Crocker with an attitude. I can't do it all of the time, I have to be in the mood, again- Therapy.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? I want a baby, but since that isn't going to happen, we are getting a puppy(surprise, so I hope my kids don't read this before Christmas) I also want my husband to be happy and enjoy the holiday. The crowds are not his highlight. It tears me appart because I don't want him to have to feel horrible and anxious and sick inside, but I miss being me, I like being around family and friends, it is "the more the merrier" for me and Dan is "slim to none is best." I just want to make our own traditions and have my kids have a memorable Christmas with magical memories and spiritual ones too. We have done a few things with them for traditions and I love it, they love it and I can't wait to do it again next year. I love being a mom! The ages of my kids are wonderful, I want them to stay like this forever, but I also want to watch them grow and see what they become. I just want another little one around for more laughter and snuggles and loves. This isn't the best time to be doing this emotion wise- I shouldn't be typing this late because everything that comes out is bringing tears down. This will be my toughest and best Christmas so far. I am thankful for the birth of Christ and the feeling I get when I read the scriptures and imagine what it was like for Mary, Joseph, the others who were able to witness. Again, tears. I got to stop. Merry Christmas everyone!

Santa Clause is Coming to town

My cute little boy, didn't want big sis to get all the attention, so he wanted me to video him singing too. I love my little boy, he is the sweetest snuggliest and then also the most wild and crazy 4 yr. old there can be. I love having this little one for my boy. I adore my little Kyle.

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

Hailey lost her other front tooth the other day and couldn't wait to have them both gone so that she could sing that song we all know, or have been hearing only at Christmastime.

Hailey is one tough kid. Her dad pulled both her top teeth out with pliers! She begged for him to do it, it was hillarious because that kind of stuff absolutely grosses Dan out. She didn't want me to do it because she has it in her mind that I would keep pulling even if she said ouch, she's right I would. I think that really loose teeth are nasty and they are better out than in. Besides, Hailey is stinkin' cute with the two front teeth missing. I love my little girl, she makes me laugh till I cry and is so incredibly clever that it amazes me.

Hooray for more butt shots!

Back to the Dr.'s office, just can't get enough of them. The infection in my arm started to swell again and started to streak up my arm to my chest. I love being a mutant, you get special treatment you know, like.."Let's see you every day for the next week," or "We are giving you a semi-permenant IV and we can give you your shots through there daily at your home with the nurses coming to you"...Who gets that? I am confused?? What the crap is wrong with my arm?? We don't know, but we will try and fix it. How did this happen and how can I prevent this from happening again...Again, we don't know. Just another day in the life of a mutant. Gotta love it.

Daily update- Another butt shot, more Rx's, and an IV with a home health nurse- YEAH!

Dang, I feel special!

My butt must be pretty good looking, or quite the opposite for all of these people wanting to take a stab at it!
