"Two Wheelin' it"

Kyle learning to Ride His Bike..."Two Wheeler "
July 2008

Kyle likes to say he can ride a "Two Wheeler" which really means riding a bike WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS. We are still getting the hang of starting and stopping. Kyle will ride the bike like a scooter for a while just pushing with one foot, then he will finally lift it up and then get going. If he is about to run into something instead of turning the handle bars, he will just put out both feet and skid until he stops. Whatever works kid...KEEP IT UP! Your doing great! I love you Pal! He needs lots of Positive PRAISE, or he ends up throwing the bike down and says that he hates the bike and that it is stupid, then when I tell him it's not the bike, he tries to blame the stupid shoes he just got. I then tell him his new shoes are just fine and that he just needs to get up and keep going, with a LOT of positive praise he gets back out there to do it again. Always a cutie!

Camping over Pioneer Day- July 2008 American Fork Canyon, UTAH

We had so much fun camping together. The kids love to get dirty, hike, fish, make fires...as do most kids, I'm sure. We all had a blast together, sliding down to the bottom of the tent together, can't beat the tent days. Our tent is going on 10yrs now, Jamie-wedding present. We can't believe it has lasted this long, AMAZING!

Class of '98 Flashbacks!

Class of '98
Flashbacks-

Wow has it really been 10 years???

Gotta get the Alpine 8th Ward back together---
Funny memories, some can be told,
All can be laughed at!
We missed a few--Danny where were you?
Poor Tres had to suffer through all of the updates from the ladies by himself...

Reunion with kids-
Pool Party at Alysons house

What a good sport Alyson was to play with all of the kids and me, I was included in the kid category, I felt like a kid anyway. Aly you always bring out the kid in me, I love it!!!
We fought for the toys and played baseball together with the plastic toys and thoroughly enjoyed it...until one of the real kids wanted to play...Okay..
Out goes the kid and in comes mommy- getting really good at throwing that ball directly into the bat to ensure good self-esteem for the young ones - You hit it!!! Good Job!

It was so fun to see everyone with their kids and get the updates on their lives. Wow, isn't it awesome that we all can change?
I am so glad that I was able to see them all again, and hopefully I can keep in better touch with everyone this time... I'm going to REALLY try this time!

Vacation Visiting Family

We took a trip to visit my sister Jenny and her family out in Fargo, ND. We snuck down to Marshall, MN to visit our old town, some missed friends, and check on our old house. We then went back to Fargo and immediately left for the lake house that Jenny and Ryan had rented for the summer. They had some awesome toys to show off for all of the years that Ryan had to be in school-they were so willing to share them with us. What nice family we have!!

The boys rode with us to the lake house, Dan and I lucked out, all three of them were out 5 min. into the drive.

Kyle had so much fun with his cousins. He finally had boys to play with and didn't have to feel like he was a tag-along with Hailey.

Hailey pretty much lived in her swimsuit while we were there.

We got to watch the fireworks out on the lake in the boat, while Ryan's boat blared the program so the hundreds of other boats could hear the music going with the firework display the resort was showing. It was funny. It was kind of wierd to be out on the water in the dark and seeing other boats little tiny light at the top everywhere.

Kyle and Micah were just content eating the middles of their oreo's while the other kids fought for the raft.

It was nice to just hang out by the lake.

One of the nights that we were there, a storm came up out of nowhere and it started to pelt down hail and Ryan, Dan and Jim ran out to cover up the boat. They all came back in with major welts on their backs and were soaking wet.

My Mom and Dad were so cute riding the tube together.
My Mom always had a perma-grin on her face.

My parents were such good sports about trying the new toys. My Mom continued to smile even through her wipe-out.

The surfing had to be, by far my favorite thing that we did out there. It was such a foreign idea to me to have nothing gripping my feet or body. Then to be pulled by the boat to get up and then be surfing the wave from the boat. Just as soon as I caught on to that my family yanks the rope from me and said ride the wave, like I am some expert who had been doing it for a while. I couldn't believe how fun and surprisingly easy it was!

Trip to Virginia and Washington D.C.

We loved visiting our Bohrer Cousins -May 2008
We had so much fun we didn't want to go, Hailey even asked if she could just stay there and we could go home without her. I told her that I would just miss her too much. Through much talking into she finally agreed to come home with us.

The park was fun to go to. Aunt Heidi practiced throwing and catching with Hailey. Dan and Kyle, and then Dan took turns throwing it to Mason and Whiney and Kyle was the fetcher if the ball didn't go as planned. We had fun and finished it off with popsicles from Aunt Heidi.

Hailey and Kyle are our little athletes. They love to play any sport and they end up being pretty coordinated, they must get that from Dan. It is fun to watch them play and enjoy it.

The kids had so much fun jumping on the trampoline with Uncle Jason and Dad...of course until one of them gets hurt.

Hailey making one of her wierd faces to show me her drawing in the sand at the park by her cousins house.

I don't know what is going on with Kyle and his smile here, he is still working on what he thinks is okay for a "boy smile" he is constantly cracking us up.

Hailey and Mason are showing their spider skills climbing up the swings.

This spider is huge! This was at the zoo that we went to and they didn't have them in cages or anything. It looks like they are straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. I hate spiders!!!

(Not Spiderman-Kyle)

The zoo was a lot of fun. My kids were not use to walking for hours in a row so we had a few wines and fits, but for the most part they were so excited to see everything. The kids were enjoying Mason and Whitney who were the experts for the area, they were our good tour guides. Thank you Mason and Whitney!!

The kids had so much fun with their cousins that when we said we were leaving the next day, Hailey cried so hard. It was sad to go because we just don't get to see them that often. We have been trying to keep in better touch with the cousins and we are excited to see them when they come out here to visit family in Idaho in August.

Enjoying one of life's pleasures... ICECREAM in Fredricksberg, Virginia. We took a walk around all of the historical sites, it was so fun. We had to top it off with some icecream at an old 50's icecream shop.
This house had it all, 2 mother-in-law houses out to the sides of the house, then another servant house or Dan would call that his own. There were so many gorgeous plants surrounding the pathways and gardens it was fun to look at all of the historical sites there.

We had fun with all of the Museams in D.C. Most of the facts flew over the kids heads and when we got to the aerospace museam, they were filming "The Night at the Museam 2" and so a lot of things were closed off and we watched for a long time just to see the "Extra's" in the film do the same thing over and over. There was a lot of hype about seeing Ben Stiller. We weren't willing to wait it out that long. We still had fun though.

We had so much fun with our Bohrer Cousins and can't wait to see them again!

The smile that Kyle is giving is called his "Boy Smile" Apparently, this is how it is done for you boys out there, so take notice and smile like this from now on.

Amy, Dan, Hailey and Kyle
April 2008
Tucson, AZ
We took a family picture in the neighbor's vaccant front yard. Nice of us to use the house that was being sold as our backdrop ha?
